When soldiers march through the hanging bridges, since they are suspended freely, it's natural frequency  undergoes forced vibration and will be forced to undergo resonance. Then the bridge will vibrate with greater amplitude than the march of soldiers and will throw away the soldiers causing accidents. Hence it is prohibited to conduct mass marches through hanging bridges.
